Martin Kelly – Head Full of Noise

Quite the pots and pans employed here initially, to fine rhythmic effect it must be said. And when you add the falsetto of a Scottish singer who knows where the sweet melodic spot is the effect is something that feels close contact but also capable of flinging the windows open to let the world in. It reminded me a good deal of Villagers, the constantly evolving voice structures, the layered effects and the circular rhythms making for something that dreamers/lovers/humans can all swoon to. So quietly impressive, our defences dropped so all that was left was for us to run into the arms of a ‘Head Full of Noise’. KH
