Those early tender keys had us nailed and had the wherewithal to bring us to its door unexpectedly, it was clear that it was the breadcrumb to a feast of sound that would emerge. We could tell that the Ugly Fun were the big ticket purveyors and ‘Running with Scissors’ had the edge over the competition. And it all comes complete with a proper chorus, dashes of madness at every turn and the expectation that things were only going to escalate from that demure opening. Taken to the point of overwhelm, this is a delicious piece of music. KH
