Can see that the visuals (promo vid here) are just as important as the sounds, but it is the latter that is the most striking. For the most part that is down to singer Renn Mulloy who cuts through the excess to give us a straight-talking seeing to, there is a yearning, a melancholy but a strength of character that offers a beacon in a beaconless sky. Could listen ‘From Dusk to Dawn’ all day long, the genuine feeling ensures it has a rare purity. Means that the Vermont group’s debut EP ‘The Phantasm at Lake Wallenpaupack’ is one to be set aside for late night in(tro)spection. KH
