Has that Jonathan Richman acoustic don’t-care-attitude with vocals matching the off the cuff languid slackerism. Yep, it takes plenty talent to sound this aloof – but then it wouldn’t matter a jot if the song wasn’t an sugary blast of sunshine in mid-winter. A debut record of note but most of all a notice of intent from a Toronto chanteuse capable of equal doses charm for her inner circle and icy blasts for those of them who step out of line. KH
