Me Not You – Everafter

Great to hear a definitive electro riff within the environs of what is otherwise an ethereal piece of 4ADism. And that voice is so reminiscent of the Cocteau Twins lead singer Elizabeth Fraser, pretty much the poster girl for the dreampop sound of yore. ‘Everafter’ blooms and then blooms some more, quite unexpectedly and I found by the second minute I had ceased all critical faculties and immersed in its all-encompassing sound (and words ‘I’m sick of dropping words like quiet bombs and sighs that’ll cut like a kitchen knife’). ‘Everafter’ certainly leans on early 90’s directions but my how good it sounds to have a wonderful new addition to that classic canon in the new century.
