The first thing that springs to mind is a more baroque take on the chamber pop offered by Belle & Sebastian, which is most definitely a good thing. ‘Dominika’ remains faintly odd throughout (it has a nod-nod wink-wink type of demeanour), but there is a strong set of indie pop machinations being spun by this Canadian artist. The fey boy vocals are suitably joined by all manner of falsetto inclined chirps and coos so it makes for a delightful skip in a sepia-tinged summertime meadow. KH
