Oldfield, Peters, Cooper, Sperry and Lakes ““ so very rock and rock don’t you think? These five make up the Dayton outfit known as Captain of Industry and although I’m only parachuting into their creative output at album number 3, 2008’s ‘The Bronze’, I already know I am going to be lapping up their back catalogue with glee. ‘Face Full Of A Head Full Of Hair’ may be a bonkers title but the song itself is a masterclass in well-executed indie pop. There are melodious flourishes aplenty and the whole thing scuttles along in such a carefree way it almost seems a shame that it has to end. This is a creative jam that should form the bread and butter of any self respecting music fan’s collection. KD
