Didn’t know what to expect when two of the most evocative underground sets joined forces but we needn’t have worried given the tropical daintiness of ‘Average Guy (Blame)’. TV Girl are the kings of retro giddiness and with Monster Rally normally knee deep in sweeping cinematic electro numbers they’re coming together has yielded yet more tropical preciousness. The vocals are courtesy of the TV Girl side of the house, not surprising given that Monster Rally’s Tom Feighan channels his energy from behind a bank of technology. ‘Average Guy (Blame)’ is the first collaboration between this pair but hopefully we’ll hear more following a couple of tour dates together in San Diego and Los Angeles.
