With a new LP in the offing from Melbourne’s Architecture In Helsinki (tentatively titled ‘Vision Revision’) it’s kinda neat to revisit their sweet beginnings. ‘Fingers Crossed’ is over 6 years old now but still sounds cherishable as this cut ‘Souvenirs’ so ably represents. It’s all sweetness and light without the merest hint of spite. AIH are all about the intertwining instrument/vocal parts that go to make the precious whole and ‘Souvenirs’ is no exception even if it is all over in the blinking of an eye. ‘Finger Crossed’ was recorded over a couple of years in the band’s own studio which they called Supermelody World. What’s not to like? KD
