Burning Hearts – Into The Wilderness

When you take something from two special bands and make a third force there’s no guarantee it will work. In Burning Hearts case it does, the combination of Le Futur Pompiste singer Jessika Rapo and Cats on Fire drummer Henry Ojala has already borne a splendid debut and the duo are at it again with the ‘Into The Wilderness’ EP (a new album is on the way). The title track has Scandinavian pop (both parties are from Finland) written all over it, mildly retro but big on chorus and melodic prowess. And when you hear mention of environmental matters you know Burning Hearts mean it as they decamped to the glacial landscape of Östrobothnian to record their new songs. KD
