It didn’t take long to realise that Chicago’s Wide Orbit have a bit of the old stock about them, the sort that makes for a steady listen but which illustrates that this is a band worth sticking around for. ‘Full of Feathers’ might have come from the sixties but the way it carries itself means that it has joyful consistency in 2025 and beyond. It starts up, slows down and gets into giddy-up mode repeatedly and the effect is one that I can’t wait to experience all over again. KH
