Lala Salama – Kuva Susta

Such lo-fi pulsation from Helsinki’s Lala Salama. The kind that might be quiet but it still has the capacity to invite us into its world and that comes from a combination of a variety of moving parts. The first being that percussive chug, the bass tug and of course a singer who has a doctorate in how to deploy an ethereal vocal. The crowning glory comes of course in the way ‘Kuva Susta’ breaks out into noisier territory and though there are teeth bared these are sweet candy claws so as to not upscuttle our indie pop heart to any great extent. The kind of indie vehicle that will always drive its way into the middle of our affections. KH
