Not surprised in the least to see Neutral Milk Hotel referenced in the list of influences for Ceylon Sailor (NYC based KM Sigel) have jumped aboard their anthemic acoustic train. And it feels good to be back in the company of an earthy affair that has plenty going on below the surface. I mean for one the arrangement is full to the brim with instrumental goodness and topped by a singer who manages to evoke heartbreak and hope at the same time. Yep, this is the truest kind of stirring new year fare to get us up for the equal parts travails and joy ahead. KH
