It moves in a fashion that fills the air in a festive manner and yes that means we were thinking of Sigur Ros. Canada’s Gabriel Comba has a similar vocal tact too, not quite Hopelandic but hardly discernible either. But no matter because ‘Sunrae’ is all about the feeling, the depth of feeling that summons the innocence buried deep inside of us and back out into the open just in time for Christmas. I got some Gorkys Zygotic Mynci stirrings into the bargain so it means this ambience dreamy proposition reveals a folky bedrock. Grounding stuff because it taps into that part of us that we’ve hidden from view for far too long. KH
