Housewyfe – A Race For Inner Space

There’s a certain spacey surf rock escapade from San Diego’s Housewyfe, showing themselves adept at rolling out a jazz frequency or two too. The chorus on ‘A Race For Inner Space’ is up to speed on dreampop matters too, hinting at Stereolab and the general refusal to stick to one train of thought is precious in a one-dimensional world. Taken in the round this is an illuminating alt pop squeeze and I plan to return to it frequently when in need of some aural buoyancy. KH
