satellites – Little Drummer Boy

I don’t think I expected ‘Little Drummer Boy’ to ever turn out like this, all jangling and spectral but so perfectly in time with the original standard that has been with us forever. satellites have done us a great service here as a result, taking something so familiar and offering up a post-rock/ambient/slowcore take on proceedings. I must say that it moved me the way few Christmas songs have the capacity to do. I’d have expected this from a great like Sigur Ros because there is a deep emotional store to proceedings. KH
