Ghost Angel – Drown

That’s a dreamy post-rock effect but also a whole lot more besides on ‘Drown’ and it comes in the washed out vocals which add to the subterranean feeling. No surprise there but brother Gabe and Julien Earle manage to convey a range of genres, from Swervedriver like grunge, Mew prog to Slowdivesque shoegaze and it makes for a hypnotic brew. Hard to wrangle too much currency out of scenes that have been with us for decades but Ghost Angel have achieved it here with their near varnish breathing new life into the cherished sound of yore.
