Local The Neighbour – Cruise Control

‘Cruise Control’ arrived at our door fully formed, stride had been hit so Local the Neighbour were up against it to retain that sense of urgency and grandeur over 3 minutes. But they (David Quested) showed a capacity for keeping things ticking over nicely, this is a track with a sense of levity and a vocal manner that is made for the classic indie disco anthem. 90’s vibes aplenty but also reminding of Newcastle band Koyo who are very much this century. They make it all sound so easy and in the process give us an indie anthem to get behind. KH
