‘Lose Control’ exhibits a strut, a peacock style strut in fact such is the arch rock plumage. Chapel of Roses also have a fun side too, to a degree that it feels like they are having a riot of laughs amid all the delightful arrangements. The best thing of course is a chorus that summons a lightness of being so ‘Lose Control’ feels like just the thing to get us enjoying a little shoegaze (I kept on hearing the Drop Nineteens) and a little pop (of the Lightning Seeds kind) in a glorious marrying that will lead to nothing less than euphoria for those who get to witness it. Spikes in the happiness index such as this need must be treasured. And all from a band that started out in 1982, sheer magic. KH
