Emma Noren – Domino

‘Domino’ builds a head of steam early on and gives us plenty of reasons to think LA’s Emma Noren has that languid rock stomp all to herself in 2024. And yes there were more than a few vestiges of Sharon Van Etten to way things emerged, the chords crash and burn in a beautiful flare up of noise. All the while that steady vocal told us that despite the carnage this love song was always going to hold onto plenty of decorum. A lovely mix of loud and tender then, a combination that is a tough one to master but Emma Noren has managed execute it brilliantly. KH
