There is a sense of contained euphoria when it comes to Hamburg dup Roller Derby. They have the toe-tapping pop angles but they also bring forth a plethora of dreamy aspects that keep us indie types on side. ‘Ready To Forget’ is fulsome of psychedelia, a momentum that is anthemic and a singalong chorus from Philine Meye (Manuel Romero Soria on guitars) that will see us through the long winter ahead. There’s motivation here to shed our skin and turn things to our own advantage and we’ve got to thank this act for offering us up the motivation. KH
