Family of Light Band – Too Many Friends

The guitars and the way they fall reminded me of ‘Don’t Fear The Reaper’ by the Blue Oyster Cult in the first instance, but remarkably California’s Family of Light Band stretch their legs even further as ‘Two Many Friends’ takes a fascinating unorthodox route to market. So we have the twin delights of those gilded (and off-center beats) but also a singer who sounds like his has a cheat sheet of all the best intonations that we’ve never heard before. It’s almost hymnal at times but that may well be just because of the devotion we are determined to show it. KH
