Well they’ve delved into proper psychedelic territory here, motorik to a degree but crafted from otherworldliness – outer space or inner jungle, who knows. Bel Tempo put us all at ease however as there is a singer on board who knows how to coo/whisper/cajole the eeriness away. ‘A Dream’ is different and it has a manner that works its way heart side. That it somewhat reinvents itself in that change of tempo and the arrival of the Jah Wobble like bass meant it ingratiated itself further into our psyche. Weird but rather wonderful, I just didn’t want it to end. What a debut release from this Latvian duo. KH
