I Am Bones – Lactation Device

Talk about being visited upon by a momentum that appears to be capable of ushering in the grip of fear at the drop of a hat. Denmark’s I Am Bones have form in that department of course going on previous releases and as always there are moments respite in a vocal volley that has something of the Billy Corgan’s going for it. ‘Lactation Device’ just throbs with intention (early U2), like an elastic band pulled back to break point and then releasing all the kinetic energy in a stampede to test the mettle of even veteran punk fans. It is wonderful of course, charting a route that takes us back to And You Will Know Us By The Trail of Dead’s classic ‘Source Tags & Codes’ and that inevitably means this is an bone-fide anthem. KH
