My Best Unbeaten Brother – It’s Not Embarrassing To Care About Stuff

You can go below the surface of this London act and actually find stuff of interest and it is a novel approach that had me thinking of Mark E. Smith and the Fall for the first time. It is clear that My Best Unbeaten Brother have something to say, but more importantly interesting ways to say it. Referencing the Boss and his way he conducts himself away from the stage is a nice touch but for the most part it is was the way we were recalling ‘George Best’ era Wedding Present in the slightly nutty performance. Will suit post-punk playlists but it deserves more than that because the urgency is cerebral and once again we’re falling for My Best Unbeaten Brother because they’re real – a tangible presence in a superficial world.
