Shady Cove – True

A fulsome tapestry, all tropical induced and set-up for a summer berth that just encourages us to take the weight off our feet and chill for a change. Means we took Portland’s Shady Cove’s (Sarah Rose and Sarah Nienaber) tender projections seriously because in doing so the rewards meant all those migraines would become a thing of the past. ‘True’ rides a wave that reminds of the sixties girl groups and combined it with a slightly shoegaze bent so the niceties have a lovely counterbalance. I was reminded of the Drop Nineteens’ Winona in the manner that the chords fizzled but everywhere else this is cocktails by the beach in direction. KH
