Despite a universally poor year for indie music redemption it seems is going to come towards the end from the unlikeliest of sources. Yep, this December there has been a batch of revelatory new Christmas records. Being a fiend for all things Christmas this pleases me quite a bit, so much so that I am already hording tunes for next year’s tinsel onslaught. Here is another classic in waiting courtesy of Norwegian outfit Remington Super 60. ‘Here Comes Christmas’ is so lovingly crafted it already seems like it has been with us for years. It recalls another era, perhaps when the soft brushstrokes of Boston and Supertramp were the zeitgeist. The harmonies are pristine and never outstay their welcome making ‘Here Comes Christmas’ an ideal backdrop for the upcoming festivities.
