Margaux – DNA

This is a song that hangs on the performance of this Brooklyn based singer who is likeable in her manner. Margaux is vulnerable but not looking for pity, having the nous of a change of intonation that is beguiling. All around the playing is supportive and capable of taking the lead during the breaks in lyrical flow with the result that ‘DNA’ creeps up on us – resulting in full on swoon long before fadeout. A pure and simple few minutes then and giving us every opportunity to believe in love again. KH
