ØZWALD – Misfits

We always expect something tunesome from ØZWALD (Jason Wade and Steve Stout who pop up on mp3hugger in different forms now and then!) and ‘Misfits’ is no different, a summery kind of sound that breezes through several minutes of descending vocals, choppy production and chords that could have come from the hand of Johnny Marr. Yes that does seem like a lot to ingest in a short space of time but ØZWALD are ambitious that way and so I find it best to let them wash all over us with the result that the pep is returned to a step that was showing a flagging quality only minutes before.
