Oh my the romance of it all, the big sky filling sound proving to be sort of canvas that we’d turn the waterworks on for. And the emotional reasoning on ‘Screwcap Diet’ comes in a two-pronged manner, via the steel guitars and a singer who can channel that Jonsi out of Sigur Ros childlike wonder. Valentine’s may be over but my only wish is that Leyton Thomas’s track becomes an alternative soundtrack for the 2025 iteration. That being said the tears that flow might quench every candlelit scene within earshot. A faultlesss piece of forlorn pop from this English bard. KH
