Modern Moxie – Live a Fantasy

If the Cranberries were still with us this is the kind of song I would have expected in a tour de force return to what they were good at. Modern Moxie are skilled operators, the sound of rock barely concealed amid the winsome thoughts and all the while a devastating sense of longing hangs in the air. ‘Live A Fantasy’ works on a number levels, vulnerable but displaying the capacity to ride the bumps that come their way. It feels like Modern Moxie have well and truly hit the sweet spot this time around, the Charlotte imploring us to take back that childhood wonder so that adulthood might be just that bit more alluring.
