As evocative as they come, going beyond mere folk as preached by Sufjan Stevens because there is a grandiose pop quality to ‘Invisible Doors’ and I felt it from deep inside. It seems that Trevor James Tillery has that cinematic quality that means we not just moved but lifted beyond all reasonable expectation for a weekday. And it is achieved through a certain minimalism, though don’t underestimate because this is orchestration and vocal majesty working in tandem to create a slipstream that will lift all boats.
