Jenny XII – Marissa’s Song

‘Marissa’s Song’ has a classic indie rock quality, the gentle build, the delicate fragility but the devastating ability to land us square with a chorus that is all the motivation we all need for thanking the gods for leaning on music in the first place for sustenance. Jenny XII are a trio from Denver about to release their eponymous debut LP and they sure do supply ample moments to have us feeling that heart of ours get back to itself, the ebb and flow moving from not quite stillness to not quite euphoria. But it all amounts to quite beautiful, an anthem for the early days of 2024 that sets us off on the right foot for the adventures that lay ahead. KH
