Lavender Blush – You Love Me Now Wait

They have a cavalier approach, hints of the B-52’s but beyond that there is a particularly underground quality to the way Lavender Blush operate and the way they give off the impression of young poets in rock garb. ‘You Love Me Now Wait’ careers about the place as if it is about to fall apart but there is majesty in the sometimes ramshackle approach and it culminates in the absolute stomp of that closing instrumental break. Pixies, the Wedding Present and They Might Be Giants in there but the essential essence comes from the rampaging San Francisco bunch known as Lavender Blush. KH
