Yellow – Butterfly

No getting away from it ‘Butterfly’ is lively fare, in fact it operates at such fast and furious degree it could give rise to punk’s second coming. There is soul too, a lo-fi quality that is suggestive of Yellow being completely off the leash and free to play whatever way they want – you often get that with debut releases. I really like their approach but also that their song is intact amid all the chaotic ebb and flow. One that is a shoo-in for find a prime slot in our affections because it is so out of step with everything else in 2023, ‘Butterfly’ is heartening in fact thanks to a band so instinctual as this. KH
