Trevor’s Lightning Project – Abaddon

You can tell that it was spiralling up to something big, all that chord action and the undertow so that there were several layers to inspect before getting to the crux of what ‘Abaddon’ was all about. And that’s before the slacker vocals arrive and give us even greater depth, to a degree that this could be Modest Mouse circa their classic ‘The Moon & Antarctica’. There is a touch of grunge going on here too, so plenty of bases cover inside 3 minutes. Worth pouring over several times due to the depth of ideas on show, a troupe who put us through the glorious ringer. KH
