Sea Legs – Beginnings

Leeds quartet Sea Legs sure have the indie pop sound down, one that is faithful to the greats of the scene of yore and I include Teenage Fanclub in that cohort for ‘Beginnings’ has that kind melodic inclination. There are some lovely cascading chords but the real joy for me comes from the vulnerable lead singer at the helm, giving us a look at his personal diary entries and in the process insight into how we can untangle the complexities and vagaries of the love for someone else. Ever so sweet. KH
