The first thing that popped into my head was that there was some lineage back to Beck for London’s Peter Beatty appears to have landed in that sweet spot with his folk laced ‘Tell Me Where To Go’. This is warm, this is intimate and this is a shuffle of subtle playing with a bard sitting atop ushering words of wisdom our way in a manner that is ideal for the post-work haze wherein we cast off the chains of instruction from our make-believe leaders of industry. It’s no wonder the track and accompanying video have been picking up praise and winning an award at the Cannes Film Awards no less. In fact the promo below is clear evidence that Peter Beatty has the sonic and visual arts worked out. ‘Tell Me Where To Go’ directs our mood towards the relaxed, chilled even but with the wherewithal to offer up a waltz for those who get bored with standing still. An all round route to restitution to be taken whenever the need arises then, ‘Tell Me Where To Go’ is taken from Beatty’s upcoming LP ‘Different Flowers’. KH
