The First Eloi – Last Days of Summer

A little bit My Bloody Valentine circa ‘Loveless’ but only the quieter moments when dreampop was to the fore rather than the blazing drenched in feedback sequences. Atop the lovely soundtrack is a singer who adds the requisite light in the half-light of tangled playing. It feels short but that is only because we were enjoying it all so much, always the option to revisit and pick out the harmonies amid the cascading architecture of course. Lovely as can be from this new trio from Hamburg. KH
