Gaia Calista – Soul Contract

I could feel a sense of melancholy, but of hope too once the tempo changed and we were introduced to an singer from Oakland who is able to evoke that levity. All sorts of genre touchpoints along the way, dream, country, psychedelic and good old fashioned indie-rock to make for a track that is ideal driving material but also for squeezing thoughts of the office from our heads post 5pm. So Gala Calista appear well placed to deliver these languid anthems at will and ‘Soul Contract’ is one that produces all the excitement in the world that this is just the start of their glorious run of lovelorn ditties.
