Olivia Reid – Central Park West

Such an ambient swell, foggy in fact so that ‘Central Park West’ has us pressed into city life and the claustrophobic qualities – the tension in the air and all set off by a singer who sounds like Karen Peris from the Innocence Mission. It makes for an ever romantic work, plenty of turns to distinguish it from the rest but most of all a heart that is true to the way romance was initially envisaged. A song to sweep us off our feet but also give us a workout at the same time because it is jumping through its own set of hurdles. KH
