Bats of Paradise – Head Like a Hornet’s Nest

The guitars do have some serious virility and it means being the alt rock evangelists that we are Bats of Paradise instantly fall on our side of the divide. They bring so much more to the party you see, a singer who has that relaxed demeanour while the noise and controlled chaos breaks out all around. ‘Head Like a Hornet’s Nest’ makes for something that reminds of ‘Pablo Honey’ era Radiohead, an innocence but a lens to a talent that is burgeoning before our very eyes. Yes, this Toronto act got me excited because in holding back somewhat ‘Head Like A Hornet’s Nest’ felt like explosive material. KH
