SamCat – Genesis Has Not Bloomed Yet

Such a slow broody number, a little of Villagers going on but with a friend to add even more subtlety to the funereal pace. It is all so wonderfully realised in that languid mannerism, where the arrangement creates a mood of hope but also the general feeling that in order to effect the good times there is plenty of road to travel yet. It could have gone full maudlin on us but French act SamCat stays clear and instead we were reminded of Micha P Hanson and his Late Cord crew. There’s beauty all around, even if is done in a manner that is unconventional as can be. KH
