Porcelain Doll – Not The End

Put me in mind of This Mortal Coil and their version of ‘Song To The Siren’ and there is a virility to such things even if ‘Not The End’ is of a minimalist quality. At least initially in the playing for there is a singer here who can evoke mournful hope in a manner that is all too uncommon. In other words we feel utterly engaged with every word, like we’re getting the narrative from a close friend or family member. That it bursts into all out bloom just adds to the majesty, a great new act for us to fall in love with. KH
