Even from that early ambient flow this track always felt like it had an epic way about itself. Bennett Dampier had us in the audience and we were going to be their playthings as the tempo and the noise raised to a level where folk was never off the cards but it was of the kind that made for more than that too. In other words there were times it felt as if the spiritual side of things had been applied, the instrumental break just giving us heavenly soundings that is beyond the preserve of mere mortals. This is the kind of fare we need to kickstart the new year in optimistic fashion, something that ‘Timing Was Never Our Thing’ has in abundance.
