Hazy Waters – Attention

There is a frisson of excitement of that opening, reminded me a lot of Garbage especially when the curled with agitation lipped lead singer told us in no uncompromising terms that we were in for a riot of noise and that edge of danger. Hazy Waters never drop the ante but they do have recourse to some harmonic sequences that sees that self same singer switch from aggressor to siren. A clash of light and dark, soft and hard but crucially intense and exhilarating – what a debut record ‘Attention’ is. KH
