Butternut Sweetheart – Cold Modern Life

There is subtlety here, a groove but also a message and done in a fashion that won’t put a hair out of place because Butternut Sweetheart are the very definition of that moniker of theirs. They make things sound so effortless but have something of a undercurrent too so I heard vestiges of Radiohead (Luke Moseley’s vocal tact) here amid all the sweetness and light. ‘Cold Modern Life ‘really got to me because it mixes the cerebral with a freakish imagination that sees the track burst at the seems with juicy goodness. Faultless stuff, giving me tingles in fact. KH
