There is a quaint opening to ‘Night Ride’, the debut single from Florence 5-piece Vov Vov! Yep it does feel like we’ve arrived at the fairground and the candyfloss and good vibes are happening all around. The korg/hammond backdrop helps foster that mood but there is a singer here who can evoke a mood of romance, youthful adventures and a soft Stereolab motorik that we haven’t experienced for some time. I really felt caught up in the transient random noise bursts with announcements of it all. Drift, oh how we drifted and sometimes that feels like the perfect way to while away five minutes. KH
