You can tell that Elise Cook is skirting a fine line between euphoria and complete breakdown and it gives Exeter trio Soot Sprite the edge over their contemporaries as a result for this track is something that feels like it is drawing from experience. So when the chords have a roll of thunder about them, when the words feel like they’ve been soaked in tears overnight and when everything coalesces in a shrill blast of anthemic crescendo it makes like the best piece of agitation so far this year.
