I do look forward to new Maida Rose songs, in fact I don’t think in the time I’ve known the Hague duo of Javièr den Leeuw and Roos Meijer I’ve found a moment where their intimate indie pop didn’t hit the spot. So there was precisely no surprise when ‘Don’t Worry About The Rain’ reached deep inside and found one more way to have us tearing up at the beauty of it all. Subtlety, shifts in the ambience and a general mood that is set to everlasting sunset means that Maida Rose have cracked a sound that is endlessly romantic even for those who believe they have lost that loving feeling.
